I’ve confessed several times before that I have a weakness for desserts and can eat sweets any day, anytime! But I was curious to know what others thought and wanted to check if I was an oddball!
So, I had a poll on my Instagram story asking if people would like to eat desserts for breakfast and turns out, only about 15% of the respondents don’t want to go that far! Well, I guess I’m not a snowflake after all!

For breakfast, I made a cereal tart filled with flavored yogurt, strawberries and some chia and pumpkin seeds!
It sure is a very different way to eat cereal, but totally worth trying if you’re looking for a change!
From my Kitchen Today, Breakfast Cereal Tarts! 🤎
PS: This is a recipe that has several alternatives and I'm sure each will be as amazing as the others. Do try and share your versions of the breakfast tarts!

Dish : Breakfast Cereal Tart
Course: Dessert / Breakfast
Difficulty: 🟩🟩🟩⬜️⬜️
Servings: 4 tarts
Note: Vegetarian, you will need a Tart mold
Ingredients:
For the Tart:
Cereal of your choice (granola, oat squares, Cheerios, cornflakes) - 2 cups (I used oat squares)
Butter - 1 Tbsp
Coffee Decoction - 1/4 cup
Assorted nuts - 1/4 cup (I used almonds, cashews and walnuts)
Dry fruits (optional) - 1 Tbsp (raisins, crossings, prunes, candied fruits)
For the filling/topping:
Flavored yogurt - 1 cup (I used vanilla flavored)
Chia seeds - 2 tbsp (mixed in water)
Pumpkin seeds - 1 Tbsp
Fruit of your choice - 1/2 cup (cut)
I used strawberry. You can use mango, orange, grapes, pineapple, berries, banana or a combination of all fruits

Method:
Combine all the ingredients needed for the tart in a mixer jar - cereal, butter, coffee decoction, nuts and dry fruits
Blitz to form a coarse base that holds shape
In a greased tart tin, add this mixture and spread evenly to form the tart shell
Bake in an oven, preheated to 350 F, for 12 mins
Allow the tarts to cool completely and place inside the freezer for 20 mins
To assemble, carefully remove the tart shells from mold. If desired, heat the cereal tart for 30 seconds in a microwave
Then, add yogurt, fruits, pumpkin and Chia seeds, and serve
